The Importance of Protecting Underground Valves

June 28th, 2010 7:14 am

Few people today are aware of the dangers surrounding their underground valves. By taking important precautions that will protect your irrigation equipment, time and money will be saved in the long run.

Many assume that important details such as protecting underground valves should only be dealt with by contractors and landscapers. Ideally, these two professions are the ones who deal with the selection and installation of valve boxes. Unfortunately, however, not all of these professionals decide to take the precaution of protecting underground valves which is why regular home owners and business owners should be aware the importance of protecting underground valves.

As you mow your lawn or back your car out of your driveway, you run the danger of hitting underground water valves that are used to supply water to your house, business or irrigation system. This can end up as a costly mistake and an extended headache for anyone who is unfortunate enough to find themselves in this position. Children who are innocently digging in the earth could also have a negative impact upon underground valves with the combination of their curiosity and outdoor toys.

Taking the precaution of ensuring that your valves are protected is the only way to guard your investment of your home or business irrigation system. Leaving these important details up to your contractor or landscaper is a risk that no one should take. Clearly, with the many risks of damaging your irrigation devices, it is a far better idea to ensure that you protect your underground valves before an accident happens.
